Reunions 2010 come to an end

Our travels are over for the summer! We just returned from our second trip to Utah for our Westover family reunion...just two weeks since we last went to Utah for the Millar family reunion. We had an amazing time at both reunions. In between, we left Charlotte to stay with her grandparents. It was kind of like her turning 12 celebration. (She turns 12 in 7 weeks!!) Her grandparents spoiled her rotten with school shopping, a trip to Lagoon, Seven Peaks water park and numerous lunches at Cafe Rio. The biggest change in Charlotte over those two weeks was that she seemed to magically age a few years in that short time. She seemed so much older to us when we picked her up. Part of the transformation was her very adult haircut. Here's a picture of the final product. We took her to church at our ward last Sunday and quite a few people commented on how grown up she is looking. It made her feel good, I think! She needed a self confidence boost before starting middle school next month.

The Westover reunion was tons of fun! It was held in Heber (just like the Millar reunion) so it was nice to stay in my parents' house again. We sure were comfortable! Below is the whole Westover gang (minus cousin Jordan). Each family had a different color shirt so we could make a rainbow of Westovers. (We are in green)

The homes we stayed in were very grand. For a family that usually likes to camp, this reunion was pretty swanky. I HATE camping and much prefer a nice, soft bed with air conditioning! :) Kudos to Byce and Niel who put the whole thing together.

Grandma Walburger always has a craft for the kids to complete.

This was my favorite part of the reunion. We are so proud of our Uncle Niel!! What a talented guy!

  1. WOW, that is an awesome looking family reunion! I love the colorful, color-coded shirts, and the family crests. I am so with you on the real beds are better than camping, and am so glad you had real beds =)

  2. How neat!! And Charlotte's hair. So pretty, but part of me is sad that she's growing up so fast. (Because it reminds me how fast Madison is growing). Seems like time goes by faster as my kids get older. :( Oh well. Glad you had a great time!!
